Logo And Branding Research

I want to show the possible thoughts of the people from these countries in the piece so I need a logo that says the same thing, maybe a guy with a loudspeaker or a silhouette shouting with a distorted peace symbol in the back.

The main idea at the moment for the landing/splash image is a typographic/abstract collage of photos that have been cut into different shapes, the eye of an asian man, mouth of an african man and nose of an eastern european.

And then use an array of colours for the shapes/facial features. So this idea would be slit complimentary or triad at first thought. so a logo to complement that would be text with maybe a loudspeaker or silhouette drawn into the text.

Here are some logos I have been looking at for inspiration/ideas:

^ I like the idea of this but If I were to go down this route then it would might limit the direction of the splash image. I want something unobtrusive but recognizable and something that would look consistent if it were on a letterhead.

^ I love this idea of logo design, just the use of shapes and outlines to create a powerful image with good contrast. Then the colour scheme too is appropriate and has the consistency to be used on letterheads and compliment splash images. The splash image as said before would be good with a multitude if colours but with this, you could use different tones and shades to have the same effect.
Its something to keep in the back of my mind when designing the logo.

It just came to my attention that a common thing that all these war-torn and politically unstable countries have in common; hope. They are just out of a war, they are relieved, frightened, scared and don't know what to do. They have only the future to look too and some of them may take the pessimistic approach and hate their lifes at the present but I would presume at the moment that they would be hopeful and optimistic that the country they live in is no longer as big a threat to their kids and loved ones. That must count for something right? I guess you would also need strength of will to persevere all that will happen during the recovery, something cold war propaganda had down to a tee-see below.

What a badass.

Another thought, maybe instead of showing how the emotions of the people I could just show how its a journey on the road to recovery; it allows for a lot of analogies within the design of the logo itself. Although it will make the slash image a bit restricted in terms of creativity I think as it may have to use something like a road or a shadow walking, some sort of easily understandable photo.

Cheesey.

Could shape this into a peace symbol and play about with it.
Seeds of growth? something to do with time maybe? Need to keep in mind though that these people need to be listened to, as its different for each country. I think I may focus on this concept rather than trying to interpret the situation that much, since the idea is to bring this to peoples attention and act as a research source.

Other logos-

Style guides tutorial. Interesting read too say the least.

Always thought web-ex's brand identity was good. Makes sense the guy got paid a lot to do it.

Heinekens is pretty good as well in terms of detailing its use.
